< SECTOR CHALLENGES >

The energy and utility infrastructure challenge.

Asset Aging & Degradation

Critical infrastructure ages while demand grows. Traditional inspection methods struggle to keep pace with maintenance requirements, leading to reactive approaches and unplanned outages.

Inspection Safety

Traditional inspection methods expose personnel to significant risks - working at height on turbines, accessing energised equipment, and operating in hazardous environments.

Regulatory & Compliance Pressure

Increasing regulatory requirements for asset integrity, vegetation management, and safety documentation. Manual approaches are slow, inconsistent, and difficult to audit.

Operational Efficiency

Pressure to reduce costs while improving reliability. Need for data-driven maintenance strategies that optimize spending and extend asset life.

< OPERATIONAL APPLICATIONS >

Intelligence across energy infrastructure.

StirlingX supports energy and utility operators with continuous visibility across complex, high-risk assets, combining inspection, monitoring, and analytics to reduce outages, improve safety, and protect critical infrastructure.

Asset Inspection & Condition Monitoring

We deliver energy drone inspections using visual, thermal, and structural data across power, utility, and renewable energy assets to identify defects early and support condition-based maintenance.

Across linear infrastructure such as transmission and distribution networks, StirlingX monitors corridors over long distances, identifying vegetation encroachment, structural deterioration, insulator faults, corrosion, and overheating connections before failure occurs.

Within substations and generation facilities, we inspect fixed assets (transformers, cooling towers, boilers) to tracking asset health over time and reduce unplanned outages and extend asset life.

Security & Perimeter Monitoring

We deliver persistent situational awareness for critical energy and utility infrastructure, helping operators detect, assess, and respond to security risks in real time.

StirlingX monitors perimeters, rights-of-way, and restricted areas across substations, generation sites, and linear infrastructure corridors. Automated detection highlights unauthorised access, encroachment, and anomalous activity, integrating with existing security workflows to support faster response and improved asset protection.

< How It Works >

Our approach.

01

Assessment & Planning

StirlingX collaborates with asset owners to define inspection priorities, compliance frameworks, and risk profiles. Each mission is tailored to safety, airspace, and data governance standards.

02

Automated Deployment

Using certified drone platforms and multi-sensor payloads (optical, thermal, LiDAR, gas detection), StirlingX executes repeatable, automated flights across assets onshore and offshore.

03

Secure Data Transfer

All mission data is encrypted, transferred, and stored securely within our platform – ensuring integrity and confidentiality.

04

Analytics and Reporting

AI-driven analytics identify defects, anomalies, and performance trends. Results are visualised through digital twins, dashboards, and compliance reports for decision-makers.

05

Decision Enablement

Integrated insights enable proactive maintenance, optimised scheduling, and reduced response times – protecting uptime, budgets, and safety performance.

06

Continuous Improvement

Each mission concludes with a comprehensive review to measure outcomes against project objectives. Feedback loops and performance data are fed back into future operations.

< Outputs >

What you receive.

Energy and utility operators receive a secure, cloud-based analytics platform that converts inspection and monitoring data into clear, operational intelligence—accessible to engineering, operations, security, and executive teams.

01

Asset Intelligence Dashboard

A live dashboard providing a single view of asset condition and network risk. Thermal anomalies, structural issues, vegetation encroachment, and security events are surfaced through clear metrics, trends, and alerts, enabling faster prioritisation and maintenance planning across fleets and linear infrastructure.

02

High-Resolution Visual & Thermal Records

Time-stamped visual and thermal imagery, alongside 3D asset views, capturing condition changes over time. These records support remote inspections, regulatory audits, outage investigations, and long-term asset performance tracking without repeated site visits.

03

Survey-Grade Spatial Data

Accurate orthomosaics, terrain models, and corridor mapping compatible with GIS, CAD, and asset management systems. Data is delivered in standard formats to support network planning, right-of-way management, and integration with existing operational workflows.

04

Inspection, Condition & Compliance Reports

Clear, exportable reports detailing asset condition, defect severity, thermal findings, vegetation risks, and compliance status. Designed to support maintenance prioritisation, regulatory reporting, incident response, and executive oversight.

Can you inspect energised equipment safely?

Yes. Our remote operations maintain safe distances from energised equipment while capturing high-resolution data. Imaging doesn't require physical contact. All operations follow utility safety protocols and maintain required clearances.

How do you handle security requirements at critical facilities?

Our team undergoes background checks and security vetting. We follow facility-specific security protocols. Data is encrypted end-to-end with no third-party access. Operations can be conducted with utility personnel supervision as required.

What accuracy do you achieve for thermal measurements?

Our radiometric thermal cameras are precisely calibrated in the factory and deliver temperature measurements with an accuracy of ±2 % of the measured value or ±2 °C (whichever is greater) after stabilisation. Each unit includes a calibration certificate, and the system automatically compensates for environmental conditions to ensure reliable results across a wide range of operating scenarios.

Can you integrate with our asset management systems?

Yes. Our MAYNE platform provides APIs for integration with common utility systems including CMMS, GIS, and SCADA platforms. Data can be exported in multiple formats. We work with your IT team to ensure smooth integration.

How quickly can you mobilize for emergency assessments?

We maintain on-call capability for emergency response. Depending on location and situation, we can typically mobilise within 24 hours for storm damage assessment or critical incident support. Real-time video feed available for immediate remote assessment.

Do inspections require asset shutdown?

In most cases, inspections do not require assets to be shut down. Substations can be assessed without outages, transmission lines can be inspected while energised, and solar panels can be surveyed during normal generation. This approach avoids any loss of generation revenue.
